Turkey Carcass Soups, Stews, And Stocks

Don't throw that turkey carcass away! Every part of the turkey can be used with your Thanksgiving turkey leftovers recipes, including the bones. The turkeys carcass can be used to make rich, wonderful soups, stews, stocks, and even gumbo!

You can use some leftover turkey in the recipes if you want, but it's not required. Whatever turkey is left on the bones may suffice your tastes, it's totally up to you. After making a big leftover turkey salad, the only thing we have left around here is the carcass!

To make these recipes, you're going to need a big pot. Or you may break the bones into smaller pieces to fit into a medium/large pot. Personally, I throw everything into a stockpot and cook away.

Also, the turkey carcass can be frozen and used later. I know sometimes the family can get tired of turkey really quick, especially after the holidays. Simple put the carcass in a zipper style freezer bag and toss it in the freezer. Use the carcass within a month for best results. Anything after that and it may get freezer burned. And we all know that freezer burned food is yucky!
