Mika's Best Turkey Burger Recipe

This is one of the best turkey burger recipes I've come across. I got this recipe from my ex-next door neighbor.

See, I'm a shy person. But I love meeting new people.

I know, it's weird, right?

Anyway, I was fairly new to my neighborhood. I wanted to meet my neighbors but I didn't want to "bother" them. I didn't know what to say, what to expect, or how they'd react to a total stranger walking up to them. So I came up with an idea.

I went to my next door neighbors house and nervously rang the bell.

When my neighbor opened her door, I introduced myself, told her where I lived and asked her for her best turkey burger recipe. She looked at me in complete surprise with her chin on the ground! Then she closed her mouth, almost spoke, paused, and smiled. She invited me in, introduced herself, and offered refreshments and cocktails.

I stumbled away with a new friend and the best turkey burger recipe in my 'hood. :)

3 lbs ground turkey

2 egg

3 tablespoons red pepper flakes

1 1/2 cups crushed cheese flavored crackers

3 tablespoons seasoned salt

3 teaspoons dried minced onion

3 tablespoons garlic powder

8 Whole Grain or Whole Wheat Buns

8 tablespoons spicy brown mustard*

8 tablespoons mayonnaise*

8 slices of tomato (optional)

1/2 cup sliced sweet onions (grilled if you like)

In a large bowl, mix all ingredients and form into palm-sized patties. Place burger patties on medium-high heat cooking surface. Cook each side until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees.

Serve on buns with lettuce, tomato, onions, and condiments of choice. If you like a little crunch, you can toast your bread before you assemble your sandwich.

* Mustard Mayo

We like to use a combination of mustard and Miracle Whip on our burgers. It gives a nice, non-overwhelming hint of spice that starts all over with each bite. Just spread one tablespoon of mustard and mayonnaise on the top and bottom of each bun.

Good, isn't it?

The cheese flavored crackers gives this recipe it's unique flavor and improves the texture. Any kind of cheese crackers will do. If you want to really be daring, use the hot flavored cheese crackers. You'll be surprised by how good they taste!
