Tangy Turkey Sausage And Peppers

Tangy Turkey Sausage incorporates the taste of tart apples, spicy dijon mustard and sweet peppers.

Be sure to use the right apples when making this dish. Using the wrong apples will yield mushy results. The best apples to use would be Braeburn, Jonagold, Jonathan, Pippin or Fiji apples.

This can also be served with buttered egg noodles or with rice pilaf. Either way it's good.


1lb turkey kielbasa or polish sausage, sliced into 3 inch pieces

2 medium different color bell peppers, sliced into 2 inch pieces

1 tablespoon dijon mustard

1/4 cup apple jelly

2 medium apples, unpeeled, cut into eighths


Preheat oven to 425 degrees,grease/oil a medium sized glass baking dish.

Place sausage and bell peppers in dish.

In a small saucepan, heat mustard and jelly until melted, stirring frequently.

Brush half of mustard/jelly mixture over sausage and peppers, bake in oven for 10 minutes.

Remove dish from oven, add apples, brush remaining mustard/jelly mixture over apples, sausage and peppers.

Return to oven, bake an additional 10 minutes.

Remove from oven and serve (over egg noodles if desired).
